The Live Animals Data Application is used to specify status of animals transported across regional and national boundaries. Background: Live animals are traded or imported everyday in different countries. Live animals must travel with a health certificate validated by an official veterinarian specifying that the animals fulfill the basic animal health requirements as set out in the relevant regional and national directives. Health certificates accompany animal imports. In general, these certificates are signed by an official veterinarian of the competent authority of the exporting country guaranteeing that the conditions for import have been met. On arrival, the animals and the accompanying data certificates are verified and checked at a designated Border Inspection Post.
